Nick discusses in detail all of the elements to include in the opening statement. He encourages using a visual with a list of the non-economic damages defined by law in the particular state you are in and demonstrates how to weave your client’s stories in and out as you go through the list of non-economic damages. Nick then discusses direct examinations, goes over the types of questions to ask and demonstrates where to stand depending on whether it is your witness, a lay witness, or the defense expert. He also gives tips on how to be creative in closing argument and encourages the students to always have courage and to support one another.
