IOWA ASSOCIATION FOR JUSTICE'S 43RD ANNUAL CONVENTION
Presenter: Courtney Rowley
Topic: Brain Injury in the Context of Trial Work (40:00)
Courtney demonstrates how she handles discussing brain injury in the courtroom and encourages anyone taking on a mild traumatic brain injury case to go out and find the human beings that surround the person you are representing. She explains how you can become the expert by spending time with your client and talking with collateral sources (family members, co-workers, etc.). Finding out as much as you can about your client is the gold that no one can take away. When it comes to mild traumatic brain injury, the defense will tell you there is no objective evidence but there is actually plenty of objective evidence even when there are damages that we cannot see.
